Shearling Flyer Jacket - Black Moleskin

This is what happens when you take the concept of a classic bomber jacket, and you fill it with the soul of a surfer. A layer of shearling lines the wind-resistant shell, with quilting in the sleeves for warmth without bulkiness. The ribbed waist and cuffs lend a laid-back, collegial look, and the shearling collar adds to the jacket’s cozy comfort. At Battenwear, we like to think of our clothes as gear, and this jacket was made for navigating through the gloomiest winter weather into bright blue skies.

Fabric Note

Moleskin fabric has a long history in hunting and military use. A lighter-weight alternative to denim or canvas, cotton moleskin has a tight weave made of thick threads which results in high wind-resistance and durability. Despite the decidedly rugged nature of its exterior, the brushed, soft interior of the fabric makes it comfortable for long term wear. Battenwear is proud of using fabrics that get better with use and age, and we are excited to wear this military moleskin until it develops a fine patina.
